WELCOME TO THE KITCHEN

Someone, somewhere once said that, “A woman’s place is in the kitchen.” Since most of us on the team are of the female persuasion, we took that sage advice and ran away with it. ТheКitchen.design was born – the place to present our signature design dishes. This is our first post, served as an Hors d’oeuvre; a Starter to say hello to the world.

In this blog, you will find posts on interesting facts and events, profound…ish interviews, personal thoughts on a variety of topics (ranging from the packaging industry to champagne). And the occasional eye candy.

Last Christmas all good people around us received a gift: a small black box with some yummy cookies, Kitchen-style. Now you can enjoy them as well. Below is an old French family recipe with a design twist for crispy butter cookies.

Cookies à la The Kitchen

  • Flour 100g
  • Almond/ hazelnut flour 75g
  • Butter 90g
  • White confectionary sugar – 1 tbsp.
  • Brown Muscovado sugar – 2 tbsp.
  • Honey – 1 tbsp.
  • Milk – 2 tbsp.
  • Spices mix ( Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Cloves) – 1 tsp

Instructions

Mix both types of flour and the pieces of butter by hand in a mixing bowl.

Add both sugars and all spices, then the milk and honey. Mix well.

Once you have the cookie dough, leave it to rest for an hour in the fridge.

Roll it out with approximate thickness of 4-5 mm. Cut the cookies in all kinds of funky shapes and place them on baking paper. Put them back in the freezer for ten minutes.

Bake for another ten minutes at 180° C.

Enjoy!
